Gwendolyn Parkin

Gwendolyn Parkin (BA MBA MA UKCP) is a Director and Principal Coach of IntegralCareer a London based consulting firm she founded in 1993.

She is a leading executive coach and career consultant, with extensive experience coaching senior and board level clients in a wide range of sectors, including financial services such as banking, private equity and insurance; property, FMCGs, media, health care, legal and media among others.   Gwendolyn has worked in the US, UK, Europe and Asia, has EU and US nationality, and speaks German.

Gwendolyn works with leaders in roles ranging from CEO’s of corporates, to Directors, Founders, and Managers. She has pioneered a rigorous coaching and career consulting approach called The Integral Process which combines commercial and psychological  disciplines from her experience as a line manager, Harvard MBA, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) strategy consultant with BCG and psychotherapist (integrating analytical, behavioural and cognitive schools).   For over 20 years, clients have found this approach effective in addressing a spectrum of issues most critical to success and fulfilment. In addition to her one-to one-work, Gwendolyn presents regularly to audiences at organisations as diverse as The Harvard Business School, The City Women’s Network, London Business School, Imperial College, The Royal College of Art and The School of Life, among others.

In addition to coaching, Gwendolyn is also an Officer, VP of Careers and Board Member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Club of London as well as the London Liaison for HBS Alumni Career Services, Boston. She has organised a number of innovative, cross-discipline events on leadership and careers with personalities such as Vladimir Jurowski, Principal Conductor of The London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Dr. Jeffrey Satinover, author of The Quantum Brain and Dr. Dan Siegel, neuropsychiatrist who created Mindsight, an organisation which integrates all disciplines of science together with Mindfulness and Psychotherapy to help people how to understand their minds and brains, and whose concepts form the scientific foundation for The Integral Approach. In 2013, she recorded a Global Webinar called Find Me Brand Me, with HBS which has access to approximately 78,000 alumni in 167 countries which describes the rigorous and effective approach she uses in her consulting work.

Gwendolyn began her career working for People Express Airlines, a pioneering start up airline created by Harvard Business School graduate Don Burr which set out to redefine service and pricing post airline deregulation in the United States. It was one of the fastest growing companies in US history at the time. Gwendolyn was promoted in her last role to European Regional Manager and was cited by The Financial Times as ‘the youngest European Regional Head of an Airline’ in 1984. After completing an MBA at Harvard Business School, Gwendolyn then worked for The Boston Consulting Group as a consultant in Boston, London, and Munich. She completed strategy projects in a wide range of industries, and also wrote a BCG document called The BCG CEO Guide to Communication Techniques.

Gwendolyn has an MBA from Harvard Business School (completing a dissertation about People Express called A Noble Cause for Change); an MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling from a joint programme offered by Regents University and City University (where she completed a dissertation called Psychoanalysis at Work); a BA in English from Boston College, USA, and is a registered member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).
